I am an established Maths and Physics tutor with more than 20 years of teaching experience. Over this period of time, I have coached numerous students both individually as well as in classroom and group settings. For the past 2 decades, I have conducted my tuition sessions on a part time basis. In 2017, I decided to turn professional and tutor on a full time basis as I would like to pursue and focus on what I am really good at and also love to do.

Throughout my secondary school life, my mathematics grades have always been inconsistent and fluctuant. I could not find a math tutor that was able to help me consistently do well in my math papers. It was so bad that in secondary 1, my grades could jump from A1 to F9 from one exam to the next. However, when I started lessons with Andy, many concepts were much clearer to me and I was able to solve questions even more difficult and challenging than the common exam question. It was no longer based on luck and I could be more certain of myself when doing papers. He is a patient and thorough teacher, and always ensures that I have complete understanding of a concept before moving on. After his guidance for around 6 months, I took my O Level examinations and was able to get an A1 for both AMath and EMath. I started tuition with Teacher Andy in May 2021. I was really struggling with my Maths and Physics, but with his help and guidance, I was able to improve my grades drastically. When I was in primary school, I really really hated math. This was because I had gone to so many different tuition centres and teachers and they all confused me on what Math was really all about. After getting into Katong Convent, during my first year there, I was just hoping to get at least a B4. At the start of the year, I really struggled a lot with the subject Math. Forced into a corner, I started tuition with Tutor Andy. My grades improved a lot from getting just a "Pass" grade to getting a B3 in Sec.1 and then A2 in Sec.2. I began to realise that Math in Secondary school was completely different from Primary School. There's life in Math after all. The way Tutor Andy taught me was so clear that i could easily pick up key concepts and apply them. I sat for my O levels recently and I managed to achieve A2s for both A.Maths and E.Maths. I’m so thankful for such a great teacher!!!

CHIJ Katong Convent (2020 - 2023)
I started tuition with Mr Andy in November 2021 during the school holidays. Under the guidance of Mr Andy for less than a year, both my A. & E.Math improved tremendously from F9 in my previous year Prelims to A1 in the O-Levels in 2021. My Physics also improved from E8 in my 2021 Prelims to B3 in the O-Levels within a short period of 3 months. I started Physics tuition with Mr Andy only in September 2021. Mr Andy’s lessons were always to the point and detailed, thus allowing me to fully understand the many challenging concepts better. Sometimes when I had difficulty in understanding, he would slow down and go through the same concepts again and reinforcing them with elite school papers’ questions. Whenever he came across a good question, he would jolt it down and then share with the rest of his students. This sharing practice actually helped me to think more critically and better understand some key concepts. Mr Andy also prioritised us a lot. Whenever I messaged him questions which i faced issue with, he would always try to give a reply even during the late nights. In whatever way he could help his students, he would try to assist to the best of his ability, so long as it was within his reach.

My mum engaged the tutoring services of Mr Andy after my Sec.2 examination. I had fared badly for both my Maths and Science subjects. In a span of 2 years, Mr Andy helped to transform me from a student failing in both Maths and Science in lower secondary to later on topping my class and cohort for E.Maths and Physics during my time in upper secondary. With his guidance, I was then able to score distinctions, A1 for my Physics and A2 for my Maths in the O-levels examination. I strongly believe that I would have done poorly in my upper secondary without the tulelage of a dedicated tutor like Mr Andy.
At IB level, I managed to secure a 5 for HL Maths even though I did not study A.Maths during secondary level.

I was introduced to Teacher Andy by my mum’s church friend when I first entered secondary schooling. Initially, I faced huge challenges in understanding key topics such as 'Negative Integers' and 'Algebra'. Cher Andy’s patient and experienced coaching helped me to eventually overcome these difficulties. He will always find alternative methods of explanation such as utilising real life examples to explain to me clearly key concepts when I failed to comprehend the Math questions. His kind understanding of my issues as well as his fun loving nature have also helped me to build up my confidence in the Math subject. After one and half years, I started to accelerate in my Math learning. In Sec.1 end of year Math examination, I only managed to score a low E8. Recently, I managed to score a B3 for my Sec.2 end of year Math examination. This taste of success has certainly motivated me to achieve greater heights for Math in the near future. For my O levels, I have been selected by Temasek Polytechnic through the EAE program and pursue my passion in "Digital Film and Television".

Mr Andy Lee is one of the best teachers I have had in terms of responsibility and ways of teaching. His teaching methods have spurred my interest in both Maths and Science subjects. I became more motivated and determined to achieve better results for the subjects. I used to perform quite poorly for Maths before Mr Lee’s coaching. I had real difficulty grasping some key concepts and putting them into actual practice. Under his guidance, I picked them up very nicely and steadily and even topped my class for Maths at the end of the year. Based on this excellent set of result, I was offered the option by my school to be promoted from Normal Academic (NA) to Express level for Sec. 2 Maths subject in Year 2019. For 2019 end of year Math examination, I also achieved another good set of result and have been offered Normal Academic (NA) level Additional Math. For my N- levels, I achieved A1 for my E.Maths and B3 for my A.Maths. Mr Andy had been a beam of light throughout my Math journey in my secondary school years.

Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ School (Secondary) (2018 - 2021)
Mr Andy Lee really helped me to understand the key concepts in both Additional Mathematics and Physics, which are the most crucial part of both subjects. He took the time and effort to ensure that I thoroughly grasped every part of a chapter and answered my questions -albeit rather inane at times -whenever I had doubts. The practices that were selected and provided by him were highly effective and they broadened my knowledge and understanding of the subjects greatly. For Sec.3 overall examinations, I had previously scored a D7 for my Additional Mathematics and a C5 for my Physics. For GCE O-Level 2018, together with Andy's guidance and my hard work, I achieved A1 and A2 for both Additional Mathematics and Physics respectively.
At JC level, I topped my class for H2 Maths and obtained a high score of 80 marks for my J1 Promos exam. For J2 Prelim exam, I also managed to achieve a commendable A grade and 75 marks. And finally, for GCE A-Level 2020, I achieved an A grade for my H2 Maths and a high RP score of 86.

Andy has been a great teacher to me over the past 4 years since he first started teaching me. Since Sec. 1, my grades for both Mathematics and Science were always hovering at the borderline passing mark. During his tuition, he started devising focused plans to help coach me on key points in every topic. With his patient coaching and constant reinforcement on key points, I did well for my Sec.2 Math and was offered both A and E.Math. Sir’s patience and fun loving nature have helped to stimulate my motivation and desire to excel in both A and E Math as well as Physics. I started with Mr Andy just a few days before my mid year Maths exam in Sec.1. At that time, I was barely passing my tests as I had a lot of difficulty understanding key concepts and putting them into application as well. This lack of understanding arises due to my heavy commitment as a key National and School tennis player. The numerous school competitions had caused me to miss and skip many class lessons. Sir had constantly helped to brush up my concepts, plugged the gaps and even managed to teach me ahead on certain Maths syllabus. By Sec.2, my grades have improved tremendously and I managed to score a high of 93 marks for my mid years exam and 79 marks for my final year exam. I am grateful to be a student of Sir.

Mr. Andy was one of the best tutors I ever had! He is extremely knowledgeable, and his explanations were concise and incredibly easy to follow. Prior to his tutoring, I was constantly failing my mathematics papers (both A.Math and E.Math), scoring a low F9 (in the 20s range) for both subjects in every single school examination. I have tried to engage the help of a few tutors but still was unable to grasp hold of the concepts taught, and continued failing despite my efforts. I engaged the help of Mr. Andy only after my Secondary Four mid year examinations, but he was able to help me understand all the concepts (using interesting and straightforward methods) within the short time span of a mere few months! Mr. Andy also builds great rapport with his students, and this makes lessons fun and enjoyable. I was able to achieve B3s' for both my math papers in GCE O' levels 2013, a feat I wouldn't have achieved without the help of Mr. Andy.

Leveraging on his vast experience in mainstream Mathematics coaching, he was able to impart critical knowledge that helped to supplement and also complement my IGCSE Mathematics syllabus very well. His clear and concise explanation of highly challenging past year examination questions helped me to understand and grasped the Math concepts much more quickly. After which, Mr Lee always ensured a clear follow up strategy through the weekly practice of past year examination questions.
